21st March 2013 - Disneyworld (Hollywood Studios)
Today was originally going to be the day we checked out and went to Melbourne Florida for the night, but as the kids were enjoying Disneyworld so much, and we had nothing planned for today, we decided to stay an extra night and go to the Hollywood Studios park.
First thing i had to do was go to reception and get the keys updated. Here, your room key is the key to the world. It not only opens the door to your room, but does so much more. They are your park admission tickets, Disney Dining tickets, and you can charged things back to your room when you purchase anything through the whole of Disneyworld. Every person in the room gets a ticket and they different privileges. Charli is not able to purchase anything :-) They have your checkin and checkout dates printed on the ticket with your name and other details. So This morning i got our new ones that had the correct departure date on them.
After that, we left for the park.We arrived shortly after 9am. One of the first things we did was see the Disney Junior show which was like a muppet like show with characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Up until this point, we hadn't seen anything Jake related.
I wont go into too much details on the day other than to say that while Kobe slept Charli went on the Space Tours ride simulator thing with Renee, and was so excited she went with me straight after it. As soon as it finished she said "Dad, can we do it again?". She seems to be liking her rides.
For lunch we went to Hollywood and Vine and had lunch with Handy Manny, Jake, and some other characters that we didn't know who they were. Kobe enjoyed this dining experience more so than any other. He couldn't stop smiling. At points throughout all the characters got up and did dances etc. He would get up and do it as well. Cute to see.
All 4 of us went on the Toy Story 3D Shooting ride and everyone seemed to enjoy that. No matter how much we tried to get Kobe to have his photo with Buzz and Woody, he was always hesitant and didn't want to go near them.
We decided we have a quick tea, and then leave and come back to the room for a relatively early night for a change. Before we went, I had a fastpass to the Aerosmith Rock N Roll Rollercoaster. Minimum height was 48 inches so Charli wasn't quite tall enough. I went in alone and did the ride, but upon coming out found out Charli had been upset. We never mentioned it was a ride, but she overheard someone else talking and when she realises, she cried because she wanted to go on it. I looked shortly after and found that Space Mountain she would easily get on if we decided to go to Disneyland before flying home. That... Could be interesting :-)
We had tea, and then left the park about 7pm, a lot earlier than we had left any of the other parks. We stopped at the supermarket on the way back to the hotel for some supplies. We came home and the kids had baths and spoke to both sets of Grandparents on Skype. Strangely, all the other days the kids had gone to sleep easily when we got home. Tonight, they were flying home and it took them a bit to get to sleep.
Tomorrow we are out of Disneyworld, and will be driving to Miami. Now to get this Will Smith song out of my head....
