12th March 2013 - San Antonio to Houston

Today will be a quick blog update. I am tired and feel like getting a good nights sleep for a change. Although nothing is guaranteed when i have one of the kids sleeping with me in a double bed. Charli likes to give kisses in the morning, and Kobe is a restless sleeper and I end up with arms or legs hitting me and he ends up rotating in bed 90 degrees. In short, sleeping with them in the bed is an interesting experience. I have never slept with one of them in my bed since they were born so this is kinda interesting. Will be good to being back at home where they can sleep in their own bed, in their own room.

Anyway... Got up today and had breakfast, and then set off from San Antonio to Houston. The drive itself was just over 3 hours so we decided today we would just drive straight there as there wasn't really anything of interest on the way. As we were driving, we decided we would get to Houston and go to the Childrens Museum of Houston this afternoon. So we did. We arrived here about 3pm and went to the museum. The problem we have is that its Spring Break, so everything with kids is busy. Took us yonks to get into the car park. Once there the kids had a ball.

We left there about 4:30 to come to our hotel. It was about a 30 minute drive in normal conditions, but now we were fighting peak hour traffic. That slowed us down a bit and we ended up arriving at the hotel around 5:30pm. The hotel is just around the corner from NASA Space Center here so that will make things easier tomorrow when we go there.

We checked in, and then went to an Italian place around the corner for tea. After that we went to Krogers Supermarket for some basic shopping needs. Then, we came home and both the kids had a chance to Skype with both sets of Grandparents. Had been a few days since we spoke to them so that was nice. By that time it was 9pm so we put the kids to bed.

Normally they would be in by 8pm, but we are trying to keep them awake a bit longer as in a few days we will be changing timezone again, and when we are in Orlando and Miami there will be a few late nights with some of the things we have planned.

Oh no... My Coke can is empty. Time for a refill.... umm.. no. I think it will keep me awake. I need my beauty sleep.

I bought tickets to Houston Space Center tonight as the tickets are half price on the Internet. The hotel we are staying at, like most of them have a business center room where you can use their PCs and print things off for free. Excellent.

Tomorrow the plan is for Houston Space Center in the morning, followed by some fun at Kemah Boardwalk which is about 10-15 minutes away. Back to the hotel for a Kobe sleep, followed by something in the afternoon. Currently considering another NBA game, although i dont think that will happen. Surprsingly, Charli seems more interested in another game than Kobe. I think at the moment the Texas Battleship that you can get on and tour is favoured to be our afternoon entertainment. Tune in tomorrow to find out what we choose. Same bat-time... Same bat-channel...
